Rockin’ The Fillmore

Humble Pie

Rockin’ The Fillmore was recorded at Fillmore East in May of 1971, mixed at Electric Lady Studios, and released in November of the same year. The hour-long set consisted of one original song, and six covers with Humble Pie twists. Ray Charles and Dr. John were among the iconic artists that the band paid tribute to. This live double-album reached #21 on the Billboard 200 and was the band’s first RIAA gold record. Its popularity helped their previously released studio album, Rock On, reach gold-level sales.

Notable Mention: Just before mastering, the band’s manager, Dee Anthony, realized that “final” mixes had excluded the audience’s applause and reactions during the show.  It was quickly repaired to meet the deadline for release.
