It’s Your World is a double album by soul artist Gil Scott-Heron and musician Brian Jackson, released in November 1976 on the Arista Records label. It was recorded at Electric Lady Studios.
The album was critically acclaimed. Mick Brown of Sounds gave it 4 of 5 stars stating: “Gil Scott-Heron takes another step in carving out his singular niche as jazz musician/rhetorician extraordinaire – number one in a field of one”. It’s Your World was also said to feature Scott-Heron, Jackson, and backing ensemble, The Midnight Band, at their collective peak — functioning both as a document of a particular historical moment and as a fresh musical experience today.
