  • Led Zeppelin III

Led Zeppelin III is the third studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin. Released on October 5th, 1970 by Atlantic Records, Led Zeppelin III has reached 6x platinum record sales in the U.S.  The lead track on side B of the album, “Gallows Pole” was mixed at Electric Lady Studios by Eddie Kramer.

The song has been widely documented as Jimmy Page’s favorite Led Zeppelin recording and is their arrangement of a traditional blues song made popular by Lead Belly.  The song’s author is unknown.

  • Houses of the Holy

Led Zeppelin was among the first bands to record and mix tracks at Electric Lady Studios. The group often paired with Electric Lady’s then chief engineer, Eddie Kramer, recording and mixing some of the world’s most coveted album tracks in history.

Electric Lady’s first Zeppelin credit began with 1970’s “Gallows Pole”, released on the band’s third studio release, III.  Subsequent works included several tracks from their 11 times platinum 1973 release, Houses of the Holy — including the reggae-rock breakthrough, “D’yer Mak’er” — and, Physical Graffiti’s “Houses of the Holy,” released in 1975.  Tracks for their live video release, The Song Remains the Same, were also mixed at Electric Lady by Kramer.

  • Physical Graffiti

Physical Graffiti is the sixth studio album by English rock band Led Zeppelin, released, February 24th, 1975, and mixed in-part at Electric Lady Studios. Featuring a broad range of musical styles, many of these songs were treated as forays into new individual directions. Returning after a two-year hiatus, this was Zeppelin’s second most commercially successful release, selling eight million copies in the United States alone. In 2006, the album reached platinum 16 fold in the US.
