Fulfillingness’ First Finale

Stevie Wonder

Fulfillingness’ First Finale is the landmark album from Stevie Wonder’s “classic period,” released on July 22, 1974.  It was Wonder’s first studio album to top Billboard’s Pop Albums chart where it remained for two weeks, and was his third album to top the R&B chart. Fulfillingness’ First Finale won Grammy Awards for Best Male Pop Vocal, Best Male Rhythm and Blues Vocal Performance (for “Boogie On Reggae Woman”), and Album of the Year in 1975.  It was recorded entirely at Electric Lady Studios.

Notable Mention: Wonder took two years to make the album, which broke his consecutive Grammy streak and led to Paul Simon’s famous quote, “Most of all, I’d like to thank Stevie Wonder for not making an album this year.”
