Cactus, the ‘70s rock supergroup featuring Vanilla Fudge rhythm section Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice, Jim McCarty from Mitch Ryder’s Detroit Wheels, and Rusty Day from The Amboy Dukes, recorded their 1971 release, One Way… Or Another, at the recently completed Electric Lady Studios in 1970. The album was recorded by engineer Eddie Kramer, assisted by Dave Palmer and John Jansen, and featured covers of the Little Richard hit “Long Tall Sally” and Chuck Willis’ “I Feel So Bad.” One Way…Or Another was recorded shortly after the facility’s owner, Jimi Hendrix, passed away, and was released, February 24th, 1971.
Notable Mention: Retail packaging of the album featured a 22″x 33″ poster of the group posed in the womens’ restroom at Electric Lady.
